Well it’s that time again! And again it feels like Christmas! I was paired with Ruth from Mixing Bowl Magic. Check out her blog to see what I sent her. It’s a great blog with loads of lovely recipes!
My foodie penpal this month was Kim, she doesn’t have a blog to link to. Kim emailed me right away and we seem to be very similar in our likes, so I knew I was on to a winner with her parcel. It arrived nice and early, and it was wrapped just like Christmas. I was so excited to see the contents. She made such an effort and included a really lovely card as well.
Kim gave me such a great parcel to fit the season and beyond. She had taken the time to check out my blog so knew I wasn’t great with gluten and she included some lovely gluten-free rocky road bars, that are already gone and were just lovely. A lovely white chocolate Lindt bar was snaffled up by my husband, I think he gave me one piece! She included some of my favorite spices Ras al hanout and sumac, and recipes to use them with! My favorite was the tagine recipe using chicken, I am going to try that soon. She included some lovely spicy fruit mix for my porridge, which of course is already gone as well. She sent some spicy tea, which I have in my drawer at work for when I need a pick me up. There were also a couple of just plain fun bits.
All in all it was a lovely parcel that totally fit the season, was a great bit of early Christmas, was so thoughtfully put together and was so lovely looking that I almost felt bad opening. 🙂
Thank you so much Kim, I really loved my parcel!!
Foodie Penpals really is a great thing to be part of. We are taking a hiatus for the month of December only, but will be back raring to go in January so if you are interested in being paired up with a new person every month, meeting new people and trying lovely new foods every month, this is definitely for you.
I am even meeting up with my Greek foodie penpal when she comes over to London in January!
Foodie Penpals is run in Europe by Carol Anne at This is Rock Salt, and heck even if you don’t want to join in, check out her blog anyway. It’s fun, and some great cooking to boot. If you do want to join in on the fun, check out that link, all the details are there, and you can sign up from her website. I love it, every month I get to chat to someone new. I have been paired with folks from Greece, Slovenia, Germany, and the UK, and the parcels are always great and something so great to look forward to every month.
Have a good one!
