Have you ever heard the saying that birthday cookies have no calories? I have a friend who loves Oreos and it was her birthday, so I decided to make something using Oreos for her.
She loves Oreos, she loves cheesecake, so why not combine the two? The result was really very tasty. Of course I had to try one for quality control purposes. Then I left the room and my husband had then wandered in and had one. Luckily I made plenty.
These are really easy. Just make the cookie dough, roll in Oreos and bake. They taste better if you wait until they have cooled as well.
There are no eggs in this recipe either, so if you have an egg allergy, this is your cookie.
First you need to take the Oreos and put them in a resealable bag and bash them up until they are in little pieces.
Next cream the butter and cream cheese together.
Next add in the sugar and vanilla and mix well. Once mixed, slowly add in the flour and mix until well incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chips. Roll in the Oreos and bake. Eh voilà! The cookies are done.
The only time-consuming part of the recipe is scooping out the dough and rolling in Oreos, but I love any reason to get the small ice cream scoop I have to make cookies.
The finished article is quite pretty. Just remember to line the cookie tray with either a silicon matt or with baking parchment so they don’t stick.
