Happy New Year 2015!

Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year All! It’s been quite a year for me, having moved back from the UK after 12 years. It has been quite an adjustment, and I have just moved again. I am settled a bit more now, in a house with a better kitchen than the apartment we moved from, and I finally have an office again, and my own space to blog once again.

I have had a food blog for just under 2 years now. When I started my blog, I had a lovely big kitchen that looked out into the garden, and a cosy office to post my blog posts in. It was a learning experience that first year. I attended the Food Blogger Connect conference, met some lovely folks that were happy to share their knowledge, and got involved with a PR firm.

In January of 2014, I moved from the UK to the US (Denver), from my lovely home, to an apartment downtown with a tiny kitchen, and no office. As a result, blog posts were few and far between, and I have lost my way a bit. Now that I have a decent sized kitchen, and blogging space, it is time to get my mojo back and get back into the swing of things!

Have I been cooking over the last year? Of course. Have I been as active in the kitchen as normal, no, not at all. I had lost my mojo, but now I can finally unpack my kitchenaid mixer for the first time in a year, I have renewed my love of cooking. This year will be a challenge, now that I have a commute again, and because I am going back to Uni, taking 3 courses this semester, and working full time. My blog posts will need to grow over the year. My school and work take priority for obvious reasons, and now that I live that much closer to the mountains, skiing this winter is key on my flexi fridays, but I am back, and will see how to fit it all in!

One thing I will say about this year is that cleaner eating is key for me, as it fitness, in whatever form it takes. I am in the process of setting up a home ‘gym’ in the basement, and plan to get my butt back in gear with exercise. Watch this space!

One good thing about living in Colorado, aside from the Mountains, is their love of tex mex cooking. I have gotten back into making chilis, enchiladas, etc, and I will post some new recipes soon.

Happy New Year 2015!
